Terms & Conditions for Chauffeur Hire

The chauffeur will choose; what in their opinion is the best route to a particular destination, according to traffic conditions and will always drive at a reasonable speed accordingly. If traffic conditions including road closures, accidents, unforeseen heavy traffic and acts of god prevents the driver from arriving on time, and in turn leads to the client missing appointments/forwarding travel plans etc. Brookes cannot be held responsible for any loss incurred although every effort will be made to ensure the vehicle arrives on time.

Making a booking

Please e-mail your travel requirements and a quote will be provided upon request. Upon approval of the quote by the client a provisional booking confirmation will be sent to you. A 50% deposit should then be forwarded by the client to Brookes, upon receipt of the deposit a final confirmation of the booking will be supplied with the chauffeurs name, direct contact number and details of the vehicle you will be travelling in. The final 50% of the booking should then be forwarded 48 hours prior to the time of travel. If a booking is made within 48 hours of the date required then the client must submit full payment at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

Any booking cancelled within 24 hours of the requested time of hire shall be responsible for 50% of the total hire cost. Bookings cancelled prior to 24 hours of the requested time of hire shall be given a full refund.

Parking Tickets

Any parking tickets gained by the request of the client insisting that the chauffeur wait where he or she says shall be charged direct to the client.

Waiting Time

Waiting time shall be charged at £15.00 per hour; up to one hour waiting time is included in the price of the airport Meet & Greet service from the time the plane lands, waiting time charged at £15.00 per hour maybe charged thereafter.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in any of our vehicles; the client may make a reasonable request in advance for the chauffeur to stop at a safe point during the journey.

Alcohol/Drugs

The company reserves the right to refuse travel to anyone that it deems to be unfit to travel due to the consumption of alcohol/recreational drugs. Under no circumstances shall Brookes permit the consumption of alcohol within the confines of the interior of the vehicle at any time unless prior arrangements have been agreed.

It is strictly forbidden for any persons to carry or consume drugs of any description in the vehicle, except where such drugs are prescribed by a doctor.

Disorderly Behaviour

The company reserves the right to refuse travel to anyone it deems to be a nuisance or a danger to an employee of Brookes. In extreme cases of nuisance the company may request the assistance of the police to eject the offenders. No compensation or refund shall be given to the person or persons requested to leave the vehicle under such circumstances.

Damage/Soiling

We recommend that you allow the chauffeur to open the car door, as any damage incurred to the door by the client (onto a post or pillar, another passing vehicle, motorbike or cyclist etc) shall be charged to the hirer of the vehicle in question.

Any malicious damage, deliberate breakages or carelessness resulting in damage to the vehicle will be charged directly to the person responsible for making the booking or client. Any passenger causing excessive soiling inside the vehicle will be charged for the valet of the vehicle (minimum fee applies of £150.00). Excessive soiling is when the car is unsuitable for the next client to use and cannot be easily rectified by the chauffeur with the equipment in the vehicle.

Licensing & Insurance

Brookes is a licensed operator with Gedling Borough Council and has fully comprehensive private hire insurance. We will not carry more passengers than the insurance or licensing allows.
